2022 and 2023 AT ST. GEORGE’S CHURCH, MILFORD – I began as Interim Rector on All Saints’ Day, 2021. The Covid pandemic kept many people away from in-person worship; St. George’s had a less-than-ideal set up for live-streaming to Facebook using an iPad next to a speaker. But it worked well enough to keep our parishioners and friends connected.

In late 2022, we significantly improved our video equipment and switched our target to YouTube. Hence, two links!

The sermons are not separated from the worship video — please forward about 10 minutes to get the Gospel Proclamation and then the sermon.

TESTING OUR FAITH – Sermon for June 28, 2020. Based primarily on the first lesson, God’s “test” of Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac, found in Genesis chapter 22. Preached via Zoom for worship with St Paul’s Church in Brighton, MI.

CHANGING THE STORY – Sermon for June 14, 2020, based primarily on the day’s Gospel passage from Matthew, found here. Author, speaker and comedian Baratunde Thurston gave a TED Talk last year that really inspired me, as I considered our role in supporting Black lives with justice for all the children of God. He urged us to Change the Story — and isn’t that what Jesus did, when speaking about who God is and what God’s Kingdom is like? Preached for St. Paul’s Church in Brighton, MI.

CREATED IN GOD’S IMAGE – Sermon for Trinity Sunday, June 7, 2020. The day’s lectionary begins with the first Creation story — all of Genesis chapter 1 — reminding us that God made us all in God’s own image. For online worship with St Paul’s Church in Brighton, MI.
